CHINESE PARENTS SPECIAL SUPPORT NETWORK (CPSSN) is a non-profit, non-denominational parents’ support group in Melbourne comprising membership of parents and volunteers. The group aims to support Chinese families of children with special needs, such as autism, learning difficulties, intellectual disability.
OUR OBJECTIVES
* To increase parents’ knowledge of communication with and education of children with special needs
* To empower the parents to access different services provided by government and community organizations for children with special needs
* To organize workshops for parent groups for dissemination of parenting knowledge, building up mutual support and facilitating sharing among Chinese speaking families
* To provide opportunity for social activities and expand their areas of community access for children with special needs and their families
